Blue Agave Nectar is an agave syrup derived from the blue agave plant—a type of succulent that is native to the dry regions of South America. The naturally occurring fructose—a fruit sugar found in many plants—in the blue agave plant imparts a clean, pleasant sweetness level. At 4x the sweetness of inverted sugar, this light honey-colored syrup effectively replaces corn syrup and other high-glycemic syrup sweeteners in any formula—easily reducing calories. Blue Agave Nectar is highly soluble, pH stable, reduces water activity to extend a product’s shelf life, and heat stable. Blue Agave Nectar can be used as a standalone sweetener, or in conjunction with high intensity sweeteners and fibers. When combined with high intensity sweeteners like stevia, the sweetening blend provides a neutral flavor profile with a faint honey note that can be used as a plug-and-play replacement for sugar.
